Well, I played all through the last level, so this has to get fun 5. In the last level, got 2390 people, argh, only 100 more! I also find this quite innovative. Production is excellent, even has a tutorial mode. Graphics are very nice (for 5 I'd like to see the people actually walk and carry stone/trees/water though instead of just overlaying rectangles).

Wow! This is super fun. I think that partly I just really enjoy being able to design a little ecosystem and watch how it works, the objectives are great though too! I couldn't stop playing this great fun little game!!!

The most entertaining entry I have tried so far this is. Takes some time learning all the quirks of the simulation but you can really have a good time poking around in your little worlds and scratching your head at the puzzle scenarios included ("how the HECK do I get N more people using only this and that??? Surely it's IMPOSSIBLE!?"). No real bugs or flaws in the coding (although you can "win" a scenario right away in some cases), but it lacks a teeny tiny bit of polish and impact to deserve a 5 in the production category. I'm not actually sure what a game would have to do to get a full score on that one, might adjust my scoring in light of all entries later on. EDIT: Ok dammit, it gets a 5

A solid game based on the theme. More levels would have been nice.

Another very cool entry that is lots of fun to play. Well done.

Very nice game. It's fun trying to get the civilization to grow, and figuring out how to get enough to win each level. Extra production points for including a tutorial. Nice graphics.

This is an excellent game, though the variations are pretty much exhausted in the given level set.

Very neat. I like this concept the best so far. Everything comes together fairly well. A few things seem like they're hanging, but overall it's quite awesome.

A classic Jolle entry. Really cool puzzle, that got too hard for me (didn't bother trying the last level, and the river level I worked at a bunch but never really got very close - I got the one in between though!). I want to keep the Innovation score down some - there's no game exactly like this that I know of, but it's pretty common stuff, "click on objects to add to the world which interact according to rules".

No fancy OpenGL for me

Imho the best game in the competition. Very polished outlook and fresh idea. Got flashback from Settlers1 times & Amiga while playing it Lacks sounds & somewhat more complex maps (i bet reason is lack of time)

Though this is not Populous, I'm hooked by it likewise. It was lots of fun solving the levels (Still did not manage Level 3, but got 820 on Level 4). Highly polished: menus, GUI, and even a tutorial mode make it shine. Gameplay-wise not many news, the rules make it a bit static, but enough fun for the lunchtime break.

A people-building sim where you have have to build the required amount of objects (or people). The graphics are nicely done, and there is a tutorial. Even after doing the tutorial, I was a bit confused. I wasn't sure why certain squares turned into huts and others didn't. The limited resources you get are too harsh IMO, though I'm not particularly fond of this genre. Thankfully there is a speed control to pick up the pace of the relative slow gameplay.

Cool game, it was fun playing planetary engineer!
