Learning Swedish - Part I

# Wed, 24 Nov 2004 13:48 – No comments

As everyone knows, the key to learning a new language is to memorize some useful sentences. Swedish is no exception, so here follows a few sentences in both English and Swedish.

My chicken does not appear to be boiling.
Min kyckling verkar inte koka.

Do I look like John Wayne?
Ser jag ut som John Wayne?

That rubber horse looks like John Wayne.
Den där gummihästen ser ut som John Wayne.

Waiter, there's a hole in my soup!
Kyparn, det är ett hål i min soppa!

It's easy to learn obscure sentences.
Det är lätt att lära sig obskyra meningar.

Now, that wasn't that hard, was it? Of course, from what you've learned today, about the only thing you can do, if you end up in Sweden, is to get a cab to a suburb, and then get all your money taken away from you. So tune in next week for our continued Swedish course!
