There's a pitch just across the road from where I live, where strange people play football (soccer) and do other unmentionable things. It's usually quite annoying, because they can't seem to do it quiet -- indeed, they're shouting most of the time. For some weird reason, this was the case at the place I lived until 10 months ago, too. But that's not the point. The point is that it's usually very annoying, but not right now.

You see, at the moment it's not very nice outside: it's dark, it's windy, it's cold, and it's raining, and the rain has been working for some time, so the pitch is almost covered by water.
