The crimes of humanity

Elver: You know, humanity has commited a lot of crimes.
Elver: And genetics tells us that all humans are traceable back to about 200 or so that lived in Africa long, long time ago.
Elver: We should travel back in time and kill them before they spawn and commit those crimes.
Jolle: I agree.
Jolle: Do you have any means of time travel?
Jolle: (Except forward slowly)
Elver: I have an empty can of white beans and some fresh pancakes.
Jolle: OK, what would McGyver do?
Elver: Well, with appropriate tools we could mod these into a time travel machine.
Jolle: Right, so we need a rubber band.
Elver: At least, yes.
Jolle: I have a few.
Elver: Excellent!
Elver: Do you have pancakes?
Jolle: No.
Jolle: Shall I teleport the rubber bands to you?
Elver: Teleportation sounds good.
Jolle: Let's see. Do you have any means of teleportation?
Elver: What if you just put the rubber bands in the electric socket on your end and I would pull them out on my end?
Elver: Would that teleport them?
Jolle: I'm not sure. Electric sockets teleport electrons, don't they? And what does rubber bands consists of?
Elver: Electrons, mostly.
Elver: There are some other particles as well, but I don't think they're needed.
Jolle: Excellent.
Jolle: I shall start the procedure.
Elver: Excellent!
...
Jolle: Are you receiving?
Elver: There are electrons coming out of my sockets, but I don't think they're the right ones.
Elver: They taste like strawberry jam.
Jolle: Hmm. I have trouble inserting more than a small part of the rubber band into the socket.
Jolle: Maybe there's something wrong with the routing.
Elver: That could very well be.
Elver: I think we have to postpone our experiment.
Jolle: Yes, that seems the only option.
Elver: And because of our failure at science, humanity lives on in the past!
Jolle: Thus the crimes of humanity will have to persist some more.
